Very often the students we support require some
assistance with medical expenses. Though Thailand does have inexpensive
universal health care, sometimes there is a need to provide timely
or non-standard care that is not covered.
An example of this is "Nong R" - one of the first students
to be supported by ATW. For the last four years ATW has provided
the funds for annual corrective surgery with a specialist surgeon
in Bangkok.
Another example is Tanate, who contracted H1N1. We were able to
get him admitted to a private hospital in Bangkok and timely medical
attention.
